After updating my iPhone from iOS 26 to iOS 27, the Contacts search function stopped working. My contacts are still there, but when I try to search for a contact by name, the search does not return the correct results.
Could you please advise how I can fix this issue? Is this a known problem with iOS 27?
Contacts search is working, but it has become extremely slow since I updated from iOS 26 to iOS 27. I have approximately 10,000 contacts, and when I search for someone, it now takes about 10–15 seconds for the results to appear.
Before the iOS 27 update, Contacts search was almost instant, even with the same number of contacts, and I never had this issue.
The “Optimizing Search/Indexing” process has already completed, so this does not appear to be related to ongoing indexing. I have also restarted the iPhone, but the issue remains.
This problem started immediately after updating to iOS 27. Please advise if this is a known issue and whether there is a fix or workaround.

I'm having the same issue. All my Contacts are there, but there is no way i can search through my numbers which is very frustrating!
Me too. Updated last night. Contact search function no longer works. I am sure there will be more. Frustrating.

I updated to iOS27 on 10/25/2026 and am am experiencing the same issue. It's very infuriating especially when you look up a contacts frequently or need to do so quickly.
I had a slightly different issue (a searched record opened a different record) but this solved it instantly.
