iPhone Mirroring fails to connect or times out on iPhone and Mac

Issue: iPhone Mirroring frequently fails to connect or times out

The iPhone Mirroring issue is still present after updating both devices to iOS 27 and macOS 27.

Sometimes the iPhone does not connect to the Mac at all, and the connection attempt eventually times out or fails. Even when the connection is successful, the mirroring session may become unresponsive, disconnect unexpectedly, or time out during normal usage.

The issue occurs frequently and makes iPhone Mirroring unreliable for regular use. Restarting iPhone Mirroring, reconnecting the devices, or retrying the connection may temporarily resolve the issue, but the problem continues to return.

Both devices are kept nearby with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, and the issue occurs even under normal network conditions.

The same behavior was previously present on iOS 26 and continues after updating to iOS 27 and macOS 27.

Hi there

Please try this

Step 1: Revoke iPhone Access and Reset Pairing

  1. Open the iPhone Mirroring settings or app preferences on your Mac.
  2. Click on Revoke iPhone Access (or remove the device from your mirroring settings).
  3. Close the iPhone Mirroring app completely.

Step 2: Force Quit via Activity Monitor & Connect via USB Cable

  1. On your Mac, open Activity Monitor, search for iPhone Mirroring, and Force Quit the process.
  2. Plug your iPhone 13 Pro Max directly into your Mac M2 using a USB data cable. A wired link bypasses initial local Wi-Fi handshake blocks.

Step 3: Re-authenticate via Cable

  1. Launch iPhone Mirroring on your Mac while plugged in.
  2. When prompted, enter your Mac login password and unlock your iPhone 13 Pro Max to authorize the connection.
  3. Verify that the mirroring session remains stable over the wired connection for a few moments, then you can test unplugging it to see if the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth continuity token now authenticates properly.
