macOS 27.0 / iOS 27: SMS and RCS fail with Not Delivered on Mac; iMessage works
Hello, I can no longer send green SMS/RCS messages from Messages on my Mac, although sending from my iPhone works. Has anyone found a solution on macOS 27 and iOS 27?
Configuration: MacBook Pro 16-inch (2021), M1 Pro, 16 GB RAM; macOS Golden Gate 27.0; iPhone running iOS 27.
Observed behavior:
- Green messages sent from the Mac fail with ‘Not Delivered’ (‘Non distribué’ in French). Reproduced with two different contacts.
- The conversation on the Mac displays ‘Text Message • RCS’. Temporarily disabling RCS on the iPhone did not restore sending from the Mac; RCS has since been re-enabled.
- Blue iMessages work from the Mac. An iMessage sent from the Mac appears on the iPhone, and an iMessage sent from the iPhone appears on the Mac.
- Text Message Forwarding on the iPhone lists the Mac as enabled through Messages in iCloud.
- The same phone number is used on both devices and has not changed.
Already tried without success:
- Restarting both the Mac and iPhone.
- Manually synchronizing Messages.
- Temporarily disabling RCS, then re-enabling it.
- Signing out and back into Messages on the Mac.
This used to work. The exact onset and whether a specific update triggered it have not been established. I have not yet confirmed whether green messages sent from the iPhone subsequently appear on the Mac.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue with macOS 27.0 and iOS 27, with forwarding already enabled? Any confirmed workaround would be appreciated.
