How can I fix iOS 27 video playback problems on iPhone?

Do the videos you are trying to play include subtitles?
I experience problems playing videos with english subtitles (tracks with srclang="en") on iPadOS 27 even though they are not visible. Check in the lower right corner of the video player if you can choose subtitles and compare to videos not having subtitles.
I visit a favorite website on Safari to use their workout videos. The videos play fine on my iMac running macOS 27.
However, the same videos do NOT play on my iPhone with iOS 27, nor on my iPad with iPadOS 27.
I’m flummoxed about how to fix this.
The issue I’m having is that embedded video doesn’t play since installing iOS 27 on my iPhone (16e). Displays a continuous, rotating white circle instead. Happens on video embedded in web pages and in apps. Have tried a couple of different browsers (chrome, edge) and same issue. Have ensured running the latest versions of browsers and apps.
Problem is on both Safari and Chrome. Not all websites are affected but most I’ve tried are. After clicking the video start the screen goes grey. Same issue on my iPhone 17 pro and my iPad Pro. I have emptied the website data, made sure JavaScript is on, and force restarted. Extremely frustrating. I have training videos I’m required to watch for my employment that I’m unable to.

I'm having the same issue. I reached out to the website It (it's through a univ) and they were not able to figure out why even after looking at the website logs.
