MacBook Air M5 battery draining too fast

My Macbook air M5 battery is draing too fast. It went from 80% (I charge it up to 80 max) to 50% in about 2 hours of medium use like 4 tabs on safari and vscode. At that point I checked activity monitor and it was showing only 2 hours remaining on 45% charge!!

Macbook is not even 2 months old.

A Bug in the Update:

It might be a bug in the update, having just gotten of of beta, and been released just a few days back. Apple might come out with a fix, but they'll only know of this if it is reported.

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Report this to Apple. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback Apple receives on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in upcoming updates.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all started after installing an update, and how you have troubleshot it thus far. Include the URL to this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Install an Update:

So, what's your Mac model and macOS version? To find out, go to Apple menu > About this Mac... Have you ever installed an update it, or even just updated it? Keeping this plugged in, try a macOS Reisntall. IMPORTANT: Be certain to create a Time Machine Backup of your Mac, prior to ever making any changes to it, whatsoever, such as an update install, or software install or uninstall? That way, you can have something to restore you Mac from, which anything go wrong afterwards. Then, reinstall the macOS.
