Apple Pencil Pro not responding to pressure on iPad Mini 7

Hello, new purchaser of an iPad mini (A17 Pro). I also have a 13" iPad Pro (M4) and Pencil Pro. When I move the Pencil Pro to the Mini, it pairs just fine and does everything it's supposed to do except pressure sensitivity. It's not the pencil hardware.

I first noticed this after installing Procreate on both devices. The pencil does not respond to pressure on the Mini seemingly at all. Before someone says it's the Procreate settings, I have confirmed the same behavior in Freeform and Notes. The pencil pairs with either iPad just fine. It responds to pressure on the M4 Pro and seems to ignore it on the Mini. I have swapped the pencil back & forth numerous times and confirmed all the same Pencil settings on both. In fact, the Mini was cloned off the M4 when it was set up.

It's purely AMAZING to use the pencil on the M4 Pro and I'm hoping this isn't a feature that was left out on the Mini. Help?

FIXED

After reading a bunch of other similar threads, I went back to basics.

Settings--> General--> Transfer or Reset iPad--> Reset.

It reset all the settings on the iPad, I had to log back into my network, re-pair the pencil annnnd it works perfectly on either device.

Third installment: I just downloaded Apple Pencil Test from the App Store. All the other functions of the pencil register on the Mini but, indeed, zero pressure reading.

This appears to be an operating system level problem.

Edit to add: testing the same pencil, same app, iPad Pro 13" (M4) and it works perfectly.

A few more bits for clarification:

iPadOS 27.0.
Pencil Pro was sealed-box new as of three weeks ago?

I just confirmed again, that the pencil does not respond to pressure in Freeform on the Mini but does on the Pro..

According to this Apple comparison, the Pencil Pro should have 100% the same features, on either the Mini A17 or the Pro M4.

For future developer reference:

The iPad mini was new and was cloned from the iPad Pro during setup. The Pencil Pro had been paired to the Pro and I'm guessing something in the process of cloning settings and devices, the two got confused.

For anyone with a similar problem, how was your device set up?
