Hi, when my daughter received her own phone it was originally set up with my Apple ID. She does not have her own. I am trying now to set up a separate ID for her, but am unable to. Every time I try I get the message that an account cannot be set up at this time. Her phone shows up as a listed device under my Apple ID. Is this is what is preventing setting up the new account? Thanks for your help.

Hown exactly are you trying to set up a new account on her iPhone?
Are you trying to set up a child account? If so, that needs to happen from your device under family sharing.
Once the account is set up, you can go into her iPhone and sign out of all the places the Apple Account is used in and sign in with hers.

Settings ➜ Apps ➜ Messages ➜ Send & Receive ➜ Apple Account
Settings ➜ Apps ➜ FaceTime ➜ Caller ID ➜ Apple Account

Then click here ➜ Sign in to your Apple Account on the web or in your device settings - Apple Support
