Microsoft Word unable to print or save as PDF on macOS
Microsoft Word Unable to Print or Save as PDF on macOS
Hi Apple Support,
I’m experiencing an issue with Microsoft Word on my Mac where I am completely unable to export or save Word documents as PDF.
I contacted Microsoft Support today and went through extensive troubleshooting with them. Microsoft has now advised me to contact Apple Support because they believe the issue may be related to macOS components rather than Microsoft 365.
Here is what has already been confirmed:
- Microsoft 365 has been completely uninstalled, reinstalled and updated multiple times.
- My Microsoft 365 license has been verified successfully.
- The problem occurs with all Word documents, including completely blank documents.
- Saving to different folders/locations does not resolve the problem.
- When I select Print (Command + P) within Word, there is no response.
- When I Export or Save As PDF, Word displays: “The document could not be saved as…”
Microsoft believes the issue may be related to the macOS printing framework, PDF services, system permissions, or my macOS user profile.
Since Microsoft has already completed their troubleshooting and ruled out the Microsoft 365 installation and licensing, could you please help me investigate the macOS side of this issue?
Thank you.
