Serious Mac Appstore problem - again.

More serious Appstore problems.

On the back of this post How do I resolve App Store login and acco… - Apple Community

I have now had even more problems with the Appstore. On my production machine I've just updated to the newest Sequioa release and now the Appstore has reverted to my iOS appstore details (like my MBP) so now I can't update any of my production apps like FCPX. I did nothing just updated the OS

Few things for context.

I am never bothered about being super upto date on that machine because its a production machine and always been OS's behind. Never had a problem with being like this.

The exact same thing happened with my MBP where I was not able to get into my MAC Appstore account again and the same thing can't update any of the production apps. The MBP is running GG 27.0.1

This is a known issue of course but there doesn't seem to be a fix??

I've logged out of all macs, iphone and iPad and the problem still persists

When I try and login with the Mac Appstore details I get the warning pop up as I've alway got.

Please Apple can you sort this out because it is starting to affect my business.

Please note - I do have pro licences for all the pro apps and they are tied to my Mac Appstore accounts I just can't login to the Appstore with those CORRECT details. This is very very annoying.

Thank you for your post to the Apple Community!

If you have two Apple accounts it can cause difficulties.

It seems from your post that you may have one Apple Account on the Mac, and one Apple Account on the iPhone ?

If the accounts meet Apple's conditions: You might consider consolidating the two accounts to save encountering difficulties: See how to:

Re: "Please Apple can you sort this out because it is starting to affect my business."

As we are all Apple users, just as you are, in this user-to-user community, Apple is unlikely to see your request here.

No-one here has access to your accounts or details to help sort this out for you.

Your Apple Account is generally the one account you use to access Apple services like the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more. It includes the email address and password you use to sign in as well as the contact, payment, and security details you use across Apple services.

You can check your Apple Account details used in the App Store are correct via:

(1) On Mac: Apple menu > System Settings > [ your name ]

(2) On iPhone: Settings > [ your name ]

(3) In your Apple Account online: https://account.apple.com/

Known to whom ? Which hardware models and OS software versions are affected ?

If action from Apple is expected, Apple likely has to receive feedback from those affected in order to act. The more feedback Apple receives on an issue, the more likely the issue will be addressed in an update.

Re: "The real proof will be talking to a genius in an Apple store to see what they think but I assume that they might not be able to help"

It seems you assume correctly, for, as I understand it, Apple's Genius Bar now troubleshoots only hardware problem-situations, giving quotes for repairs, or servicing, etc.

If you want to reach out to Apple Support:

there is an Apple Account Support website online:

(info. / support / contact options etc.)

Eg: There is a "Still need help - Get Started" link,

(or you can download and use the Apple Support app)

at the bottom of their webpage

When Apple announced that you could merge accounts it was with caution from a lot of users so I never went down that road.

As a very long time Apple user (and someone with different devices) this is the firs tie this has started to happen over the past year or so.

It should not be happening especially randomly when you update the OS and on a production machine which I use for my business.

I will have to try and log out of all devices again and restart (like searches on here has suggested) BUT it seems like guessing game as to what is happening.

The real proof will be talking to a genius in an Apple store to see what they think but I assume that they might not be able to help. There is clearly something very wrong regarding a user account and their details.
