How to create a separate professional workspace on iPad Pro?

I would like to be able to have a professional workspace on my iPad that can be separated from my personal spaces. I have an iPad 13 Pro using iOS 27.2 Beta and the professional workspace could potentially be used by others besides myself. I would like the professional workspace to not have anything other than one or two apps of my choosing available/working and do not want any notifications from things such as messages, etc. while in that space.

Is that possible to create that without needing to turn off messages and notifications, etc.?

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26

Outside of Educational and Enterprise establishments, iPad and iPhone are principally intended to be a single-user device - and neither support separate user-spaces/accounts or be shared between users in the same manner as you may be accustomed when using a Windows PC or Mac computer.

For managed environments, where multi-user usage is possible, the Deployment Guide provides appropriate guidance.

For unmanaged environments, be aware that if you sign-out of iCloud and other Apple services - and allow another user to sign-in - you’ll not be able to change back for 90-days. So as to prevent account abuse, some critical Apple services will only allow one change of signed-in AppleID (on a device) in a 90-day period.

In conclusion, unless you fully understand and accept the implications, you would be well advised to reconsider any attempt to share your iPad with another user.

You may be able to limit what can be done and what apps can be accessed as well as limit notifications through a combination of Screen time and Focus modes. You can also restrict the iPad to a single app using Guided Access if you don't need them to access more than one app.

But it wil be a combination of settings and restrictions, there is no easy way of doing this and they will still have access to most things on the iPad unless you restrict them to a single app using Guided Access.

Screen Time can

No, sorry. It's not possible to create a seprate work space or user on an iPad, much less one that has no access to your messages and notifications.

iPads by definition are single user devices, so there is no built-in support for mutiple people or separate accounts or workspaces.

There is an option for schools and business to set up shared ipads for community usage where a user can log in and work on it and when they log out and all their data and info is wiped from the iPad. The files and session data are stored on the device management server so it can be loaded again when they sign in to the same device or anoher device in the management group. This however requires a pretty complex Mobile device management setup with Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager and Apple Configurator.

To reiterate, unless your iPad is centrally managed and explicitly configured for multi-user usage, sharing an iPad (or iPhone) with anyone else risks exposure of your personal and private information. All data is visible to anyone that has physical access to the unlocked device. In unmanaged environments, an iPad and its security architecture are designed to be a single-user only.

In sharing your iPad with others, risks are not just limited to others gaining access to messaging and documents, but also to sensitive data such as your various account credentials. You also risk account and/or device lockout.

Whilst not wishing to labour the point - and offered as advice - it is strongly recommended that you reconsider any attempt to share your unmanaged iPad with anyone else. Many have fallen victim to unexpected/unintended consequences of device sharing - the potential consequences of which cannot be overstated.
