Choosing between iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11
I wanna purchase my first iPhone. Should I buy the iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11? I don't care if I get a smaller phone.

Earlier iPhone models
Get the iPhone 11 Pro. Since you don't mind the smaller size, it is the better
phone in almost every way, and the two are otherwise equals where it counts.
What is the same on both:
- A13 Bionic chip and 4 GB RAM, so day-to-day speed is identical
- Same main and ultra-wide cameras, same 12 MP front camera, Night mode
- Face ID, wireless charging, Lightning port, no 5G (both are 4G only)
- Same software support: both run the current iOS 27
Why the 11 Pro is better:
- Screen: 5.8" OLED (sharper, true blacks, brighter, HDR) vs the 11's
6.1" LCD, which is noticeably lower resolution. This is the biggest
difference you will see every day.
- Camera: adds a third lens, a 2x telephoto, for better zoom and portraits
- Build: stainless steel frame and matte glass vs aluminium
- Water resistance: rated to 4 m vs 2 m
- Battery: slightly longer lasting despite the smaller body
- Storage: goes up to 512 GB (the 11 tops out at 256 GB)
When the iPhone 11 makes more sense:
- It is clearly cheaper and you are on a tight budget
- You prefer a bigger screen or the brighter colour options
- You find one in much better condition than the Pro you are looking at
Things to check before buying either one (they are 2019 phones, so you will
be buying used or refurbished):
- Battery health: Settings > Battery > Battery Health. Aim for 85%+ or
budget for a battery replacement.
- Storage: avoid 64 GB if you can. 128 GB (11) or 256 GB (11 Pro) is safer.
- Activation Lock: make sure the seller has signed out of their Apple
Account and erased the phone, or you will not be able to use it.
- Parts: Settings > General > About shows whether the screen, battery, or
camera are genuine Apple parts. Non-genuine OLED screens are common on
used 11 Pros.
- Condition matters more than model. A healthy iPhone 11 beats a worn-out
11 Pro.
One honest caveat: these are the oldest iPhones Apple still supports, so they
are likely to be the next ones dropped from major updates, and neither gets
Apple Intelligence features. If you plan to keep your first iPhone for several
years and your budget stretches, an iPhone 12 or 13 will last longer and adds
5G. If the choice really is only between these two, go with the 11 Pro.

so one could suspect that the iphone 11 series may be next in line to not recieve further ios versions
With the release of iOS 27, the 11-series phones and the SE (1st generation) have now received seven major iOS updates. That's more than any iPhone model ever received previously. Betting that these phones will receive an eighth major update, next year, does not seem like the way to go.
SE 2nd gen (2020) but not SE 1st generation.
most is camera stuff and a bit size diffrence
you can see them compared here iPhone 11 Pro vs iPhone 11 vs iPhone 18 Pro - Apple

With iphone 11 you would be looking at two seven year old used iphones. I would not advise either of them

Oops, my bad! The iPhone SE (1st generation) is forever limited to iOS 15. It is the iPhone SE (2nd generation) which originally ran iOS 13.4, and for which iOS 27 represents seven major updates.

I posted one a couple of weeks sgo, started with "According to Gemini..."
It was a good answer, suitably trimmed. I didn't pretend it was my own work!
I don't know why people bother to come here any more when Google has a free AI mode.
