IOS 27 broke wifi calling

I upgraded my iPhone SE 3rd Gen from IOS 26 to IOS 27.0.1 3 days ago.

Now I can’t make outgoing wifi calls.

I put my sim in my old SE2 on IOS 26 and it works fine, so it’s not a carrier issue.

Apple BROKE this!!

I’ve tried all the YouTube fixes, nothing works!!

It’s entirely possible that your carrier needs to push out carrier update.

Carriers often (but not always) push these out automatically when they see that you’ve updated to an OS which requires such a carrier update.

See how to initiate it manually here:

Manually update carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If that doesn’t solve your issue, contact your carrier.

What did your carrier say? Wifi Calling is a service they offer and provisioned in the SIM. They may need to provide a Carrier Update or reprovision the SIM for activation on iOS 27. You didn't give us the name of the Carrier in order to narrow down a specific Carrier Update seen by others, but I can tell you both T-Mobile and AT&T have no problem with WiFi calling on iOS 27.

Your iPhone SE 3rd Gen could be 4½ years old and the long process of applying a major iOS upgrade to an iPhone with a weak, aging battery can be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." So...

Does your iPhone SE 3rd Gen still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

I am still having a WiFi calling problem, it was working earlier in the day and then dropped WiFi calling later in the day. Any ideas that have not been discussed. I’ve tried everything to no avail. Getting frustrating.

Let your phone carrier know how frustrating it is that you can't use their service that you pay them monthly for.

It has been mentioned already by other user to contact your phone carrier.

wifi calling is your phone carrier feature, you pay them to use that service.

This is a literal disaster by Apple, the company I so admire, needs to fix this issue asap! Many people’s mobile phones, who work at home, use the WiFi calling as their primary, and necessary communication tool. My WiFi calling is now completely unreliable. I would hope a patch is released in days to fix this significant issue. This is now a huge problem for me, and I suspect tens of thousands of others.

They need to give users a roll back option so we can get our phones working have a pro max 17 and it has no access to WiFi calling now. I run a business off my phone and this is a huge problem. I live in the mountains of North GA and this is unacceptable we need a roll back option just like a computer to fix issues with software when engineers get it wrong.

Best of luck with the retail store personnel.

While there are certainly still some smart, technically-proficient folks who WANT to help …

… they seem to be getting fewer in number and farther apart.

In all fairness to them, I have the feeling that their own company doesn’t allow them to see much “behind the curtain”; if any at all.

So employees can only rise to the level of expertise which their employer will allow.
