HomePod mini touch panel registers ghost touches and increases volume automatically
My HomePod mini top touch panel does not work properly. It looks like it is registering ghost touches from time to time. Siri listens for input frequently and the volume increases automatically.
I have already disabled Siri calling using "touch and hold," but the volume increasing on its own is a big problem since I do not need it blasting at maximum volume. I have already tried a hard reset, restoring factory settings, and removing and re-adding it to the Home app multiple times. I also attempted controlling and setting it up from different devices including an iPhone, iPad, and Mac mini... but none of these steps resolved the issue.
I bought it in June 2025, and I wouldn't expect a hardware problem on an Apple product after just 15 months.
Has anyone else experienced this problem on their HomePod mini? (My HomePod Mini, iPhone, iPad, and mac Mini all of them are running the latest version of OSes)
