Battery replacement timing when health drops below 80%
Battery replacement timing - is it better to replace the battery right when the health drops below 80% or wait a bit longer if it's covered?

I concur with lobsterghost1 and Bob Timmons. Best to get it done sooner rather than later. There is nothing to be gained by waiting. And it's possible that the battery will start to swell. If it does, it can damage the screen. That becomes a more complicated repair. Also more expensive if you don't have AppleCare +

Once battery health dips below 80%, get it replaced at your earliest convenience. The battery is failing, slowly, but failing just the same and you don't want something bad to happen, like the battery swelling, which could permanently damage the phone.
If "it's covered".......implying that you have AppleCare+ coverage on your iPhone.......it makes sense to replace the battery as soon as possible.
It probably won't hurt if you hold off for a month or two, and wait until you see a message that the battery is degraded......but It also won't help.
