Calendar not saving event note edits

My personal calendar on macbook is not saving event note edits. If I open an event on my personal calendar and make an edit to the notes about that event (which is often where I keep important info about the meeting), frequently the revised notes are gone and it has reverted back to the old notes. My calendar is synced to icloud and the behavior appears on both macbook and icloud (and iphone). This has created many problems where I have lost vital info that I can't retrieve. It just started to happen in the last month or so.

Hi there

Please try this

Open the Calendar app on your Mac.
Click View in the top menu bar, then click Refresh Calendars (or press Command + R).
Test making a minor edit to see if it holds.

Thanks. I have used the "refresh calendars" command both while the event is still open and after first being closed...and yet after about a minute it reverts to the pre-edited version about half the times.

In Googling I see that people have had this type of issue when syncing their Google calendars in Apple Calendar app, but to be clear, this is happening on my macbook in my personal apple calendar that is not shared or Google (it is synced on icloud). I have just started getting this error message "Your event couldn’t be refreshed. The connection with server has been closed. Try again later." But this is my local apple calendar on my computer that I have used for over 10 years. The serve is my macbook itself. Very confused. I have about 7 other calendars in the app that are all working fine.
