Photos app album list lacks sorting and search when adding photos on iPhone

I have many photo albums on my iphone. I know, I could search for an album go into there and add pictures.

But I want to have the following way:

Photo app

select pics/movies

Add To Album

--> a huge list of album show up

There is no sorting logic in this list nor is there a search possibility.

A search by name, latest/newest would be super nice - much better a search function to enter

Do I oversee something, because I think this should really be basics in such an app.

There is no way to sort the list of albums in the "Add to album" dialog.

It helps to create your albums in folders, to make it easier to find your albums in the list of albums. Then you can just tap the folder with the album to see a shorter list. I am using folders a lot and try to keep no more than ten subfolders or albums in each folder, so it is easy to find my albums.

I am seeing the looking glass only after tapping "Add to album" on iOS27. Can your iPhone be upgraded to iOS27?
