hi, thanks for your help.
thirst, some answers to your questions :

1- Did it show up as AHT when Option booting?
no, it does show AHT when booting with option key... just the system on the local hard disk

2-When you're normally booted does only a Read me show up as the only file on it?
it is impossible to boot with the CD burned with "Disk Utility".
when i mounted the image disk on the desktop or the cd burned, i see the read me file.

3-Did you just use Disk Utility to Restore it to a CD?
yes, i use "Disk Utility" to burn the cd : a control-clic on the AHT image disk -> "graver" in french (burn). and the operation is ok. but not in restore mode.
So, I tryed to clic on "Restore": i can select the img source, but i can't select the good destination by drag and drop... i worked with a CD-RW or a CD-R, nothing... no possibility to restore the AHT on it.

For information, i do this on my principal computer (iMac 2,4 intel core duo). i need the AHT for my older powermac G4 1,42 Dual Mirror.
thanks.

First, sorry for my english level... that isn't easy for you to understand... but it's a good exercice for me 😉

On the Mounted CD, there is just the "read me" file...
when i want to see the hidden files (with "Transmit" by example), i can see some files et folders (like system folder...). But when i start the computer with option key, i don't have the choise for AHT... i don't understand...
Please, can you explain me how i can burn a image disque on a CD with the "Restore" step... because i think that when i burn normaly, i don't make a bootable disk.... What do you think about? Thanks

What do you think about?

It sounds like you burned it properly, unless you show hidden files, the read me is all you'll see. If viewing hidden you should see something like this...

Apple Hardware Test Read Me.app
Apps
Configs
Desktop DB
Desktop DF
diags
Fonts
Images
Includes
Localization
main.sc
of languagechooser.sc
Scripts
System Folder
TCMs

Nevermind the Restore, I can't get it to work to a CD/DVD either... must be getting old!

Have you tried booting holding the c key down?
