Unable to Purchase Redemption Codes for Custom Apps

Recently, I've noticed that I can no longer purchase redemption codes for custom apps in Apple Business Manager.

However, Apple's official documentation (Distribute content with Apps and Books in Apple School Manager and Apple Business - Apple Support) states that redemption codes are supported for the distribution of custom apps.

Has Apple changed its policy regarding redemption codes for custom apps? If so, why is this distribution method still listed as supported in the documentation?

Apple's documentation still lists redemption codes as a supported distribution method for custom apps, so I wouldn't assume Apple has officially discontinued them.

However, the newer Apple Business documentation describes redemption codes specifically for paid apps, which makes the situation less clear.

I'd check whether the Redemption Codes option is missing entirely or whether it's available but the purchase fails.

If this affects multiple custom apps, I'd contact Apple Business Support and ask whether there's been a change in availability. They should also be able to clarify why the documentation still lists custom app redemption codes as supported.

Are you seeing an error message, or has the Redemption Codes option disappeared from the License Type menu?

I cannot find a UI for purchasing redemption codes in the current Apple Business interface.
