How to claim my iTunes Ping Artist Page?

Hello I'm a french Artist. I have an EP on iTunes, the second soon.
And yes I want to know how creat our artist page.

I really wonder why Apple did not allow artist to claim their Ping pages first. There are so few artist to follow at this point. None in the genera I'm in.

Finally downloaded 10. It seems that only featured artists can have their artist profile created. Cannot import friends from FB either.

Meanwhile, people are setting up ping pages posing as artists. Guess theres no way to stop that anyway.

Apple, You're failing your artists with this inconsideration! Come on, give us access to the music that we own so that we can help you build your network.

Love them... let us know if/when the artist page is up.

It's the usual business since Apple got into consumer electronics. Apple always starts a new thing with the 20% of functionality that satisfies 80% of people's requirements. Only after whining and complaining do they give you any of the rest (copy & paste etc.)

I guess when we do get it, Apple will claim that it was there all the time.

The iTunes Store staff does not participate in these forums. Email the address in the first reply in this thread.

And have a bit of patience. This was all rolled out less than 24 hours ago.

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for a month or so, but I would hope they recognize the success will rise and fall on whether or not they make it easy for independent artists to participate.

got a response from itunes customer service...

... which wasn't really a solution at all, but perhaps a clue that it'll have to be organized by the digital distributor that each artist uses to set up an artist page. lame... but i guess that would solve the potential claiming everyone's artist name issue.

Yes, and as Moth stated " Apple always starts a new thing with the 20% of functionality that satisfies 80% of people's requirements." It's the same thing as if we released an album a quarter of the way through recording them and just saying "No really, it's great. Just go ahead and buy the album now, I promise I'll finish the songs and mix them; maybe get it mastered. Those scratch tracks? Just be patient I'm working on the final takes."

TuneCore: "We had a phone conversation with Apple yesterday asking about TuneCore artists (DIY artists) presence on Artist pages in Ping. There will be a period of roll out to musicians, so we don't expect to get everyone up right away. Look for a post later today about this."
