iTunes 10 - where's the color?

How can I get all the colored icons back in iTunes? The new UI looks like it came from a 1940's film or something. It's awful. I want my colors back! How can I do that?

MacBook Pro 2.8GHz (Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Adding my voice also to the chorus. Should have been a preference check-box to revert to the actually useful interface with colours vs the grey drab counter-intuitive blah. Had to spend 15 minutes and hack iTunes to get some of the colour back.. how dumb.

I agree! I hate the new iTunes!!!!!!
I want my colour back, the red yellow green corner buttons back where they belong, and the previous way they library was displayed back!!!!

iTunes 10.1 can't come soon enough !!!!!!!!

Pity there's nothing comparable for Windows users, though ... it really is something that Apple themselves need to address in the software itself.

Okay, just to add my two cents here: yes to putting the color back. Who at Apple made that call? It's 2010...not 1950. COLOR!

this forum is a complete waste of time. Supposedly the question of Apple differentiating itself from those other boring beige boxes (remember those ads?) by choosing ugly gray icons for iTunes has been "answered." Where? The answer is to post complaints on the feedback site:

i figured it out, how simple go to system preferences, appearance, and change appearance to blue.. not graphite , and bam open itunes , safari and there u go color 😉

Despite the "return colour to iTunes hack" working on my iMac it doesn't seem to work on my MBP. Does anyone know why this should be?

Is there any hack which will work with iTunes 10.2 already? Or can I use color-hacks for 10.1 as well? I will not install the new iTunes without colors ...

The existing 10.0 color-hack works with 10.2 as well (I've just used it successfully) however the bottom edge of the "Downloads" icon is cut off. Unfortunately the background grid is still such a light grey it's invisible and the checkboxes are still messed up. I mean, really, when is Apple going to come to its senses? Even with the hack, iTunes 10 still looks terrible.

Every new OSX looks better every year, till now.

I refuse to upgrade my other machines.

its unbelievable in this Apple of ours we cant add a bit of colour to a very dour iTunes 10

The problem is 1. No color. And 2. No distinction between buttons 3. The new UI is actually harder to use. I got stuck in the store for like 10 seconds (which is pretty impressive) till I found the library button. The Icon looks very "Stupid" to put it bluntly. I think apple can do better. (I hope)
