Is that a way to completely remove Ping from iTunes 10?

hello;

so far in the less than 30 minutes I had iTunes 10 installed I do not like it.
It would have been simple to put a preference in to disable Ping.

I have removed iTunes 10 and reinstalled iTunes 9.2.1. I need to rebuild the
iTunes Library because iTunes 10 updated it and iTunes 9.2.1 is unable to
read it.

I do not like having Ping shoved down my throat whether I want it or not.
I do not like social networking sites and Ping is no exception. The only ping
I want on my computers is the unix command 'ping' used to diagnose network
issues and problems.

That's a great idea. I only then have to turn on the store when I have a look for any new podcasts etc.
My beef was that a lot of my music I could not post about because it was not in the iTunes store. I don't blame apple for trying to increase sales by this, but allowing people to post about music that is not in the store could have been used as market research to find out other popular songs and albums that they could include in the store at a future date. And I was a bit peed-off when I turned ping off, but still had that ping drop-down next to all of my songs. And would you believe that it also appeared next to the radio stations as well!

You have saved me downgrading, as apart from the way ping is at the moment, I actually like iTunes 10.

I've been unable to find the "iTunes.pkg" file. I looked in the Receipts folder & search/spotlight. iTunesX.pkg (v 9.2.1) doesn't show up in search/spotlight either, but I "have" this file. Maybe mine is named something else. I have a file named "iTunesAccess.pkg" (version 9.2.1) in Receipts folder. Is this it?

• Can I still downgrade without locating this file?

• Also, can I use my old library if I change the name (I think I read that somewhere). Thanks for any advice.
