Just got the new Apple TV and the iPad Hulu+ app. You can use Airplay Mirroring to mirror the iPad screen to Apple TV and effectively watch Hulu+ on your big screen. Not ideal as a native Hulu+ app on ATV, but it does work.

It works, but still definitely far from ideal.  I'm definitely waiting for a native app, whenever it comes along, regardless of who/what is causing the holdup.  I still haven't "cut the cable", so I can watch most anything through Hulu+ on my iMac, and if I want to see a recent episode on the TV it's probably on one of the on-demand channels or I can hook up an HDMI cable and watch it on the TV.  Not ideal either - if I decide to "cut the cable", it definitely needs to be worth the cost.  Buying individual episodes & season passes for TV shows through iTunes is pretty expensive, especially if you aren't interested in watching something more than once. Buying movies or season passes of your favorite TV shows so you can watch them over-and-over is definitely worth the price.   But, to be honest, sometimes I really just want to catch up on a completely trashy reality show episode or two while I'm doing other stuff...

I have the new iPad (3) and the new atv 3.

I'm getting the could not load content error when I do mirroring. Are you guys using an iPad 2? I cannot get it to mirror.

Dunno if this'll help any but my ipad2 wouldn't mirror with the atv3. Hard wired it and it worked. So I then changed the atv3 from connecting at 5 ghz through my router to 2.4 and mirroring works fine. Don't understand why that made a difference since streaming etc worked fine at 5ghz.

I'm using an iPad 2 with an ATV 2 and mirroring to our HDTV works fine with HuluPlus.  Wifi 7mbps with a little stutter now and then.

My mistake. Mirroring works. AirPlay does not work.

But it's not viewable at a good resolution so it isn't worth it. There are other solutions. I wish someone from either side would comment on it. I spend tons of money on both apple and hulu.

Ryan I have a macbook air and I use an app called airparrot. This app does cost $10 but you get to use it for 30 minutes as a trial to make sure it works. I will say quality is still not stellar however it works pretty well. Hope this helps. Just google airparrot should come up.
