iTunes 10 won't show me my songs.

I just downloaded iTunes 10 and it won't display my songs.
I use Snow Leopard (got it recently)
When I had iTunes 9 it wouldn't work, and every time I reopened it it would crash immediately.
Now iTunes 10 doesn't crash, but when I import songs, the songs are imported and they start playing, but it doesn't show up in the library.

Also, whenever I click "Movies" and then "Music", the movies introduction page just stays there and sort of freezes.

Any ideas?

i tried for over a week and never found a solution. i gave up. in addition to this problem, i realized that i could not import movies into iMovie or photos into iPhoto. i ended up not using Migration Assistant and instead starting with a clean install and installing all my software over. i moved my non-system/Library files over but only brought over my browser/Mail settings. otherwise i pretty much started from scratch. Migration Assistant was USELESS. very, VERY frustrating. i'd say worst new Mac experience I've had in 17 years.

Hey Im having the same problem, no music, no movies, no TV shows, no apps, no nothing.
I've tried EVERYTHING
from simply trying to copy music over,
to deleting and reinstalling iTunes several times.
to a 100% 7-pass drive clean, erasing EVERYTHING, then reinstalling Snow Leopard and Restoring from Time Machine
im going to try wiping everything clean and then without completely restore using a back up just simply drag and drop files hoping to avoid what ever is corrupt.

I am having this problem after upgrading to iTunes10 after 10.6.4 was installed. The only things I can see are Ping, iTunes store and my iPad device details. I can't see any of my library.

I have tried everything from completely reinstalling itunes, to downgrading to itunes9 (same problem there too, just with more crashing) to clearing out all traces of libraries, plists and receipts. I really don't understand how to fix this without redoing my entire OS.

Can anyone at Apple shed some light on this?

Much appreciated.

I have tried everything listed here short of reformatting my hard-drive and fresh installing OSX 10.6.4 and also haven't tried install the beta of itunes. I am experiencing the exact same problem that everyone else seems to be having, I can not see any of my music in the music list or any playlist, however, I can still play my music by using the play and next and previous track buttons. When I try to open certain things like the itunes store, itunes crashes. Please fix this Apple, ***...

I decided not to erase and reinstall my OS as the Genius bar at my local Apple Store suggested. Recent OS and iTunes updates have solved the problem with my content not showing up, I see everything now. But iTunes still crashes all the time when I switch views in my Music and TV shows. I think if I hold out for enough updates they'll address the problem. I don't use iTunes that much. The iPhoto problems are another story.

iTunes 10 won't show me my songs.
