Scratches and cracks on the Imac G5 front screen exterior corners?

Hello folks.

New to the forum here. I have a 5 year old imac g5 which is working fine and great but I am starting to see some wear on the edge of the screen monitor like crack or scratches on the surface of the exterior of monitor. I have pics that I can show you from my mobile camera but I am not sure how to post it on this forum?

Any ideas on how to repair the scratches/cracks?

Thanks,

Boaby

Thanks for your reply, Scott. Glad that you understood my question. I realize that i kind of made of a bit of mumbo jumbo trying to explain my problem when i reread the question. I saw/read somewhere on the internet that you can get scratch polishers to clean the affected area like idrops for example. But if you say it would be too expensive to repair the monitor outer white shell then I am not going to bother it. It is just that the cracks/scratches seem to enlarge over time, it should not affect the entire function of the machine. It is probably more cosmetic than functionality.

By the way, what does PITA stands for?

Thanks,

Boaby
