iphone 4 won't find any device

hi,

I dicsovered a bug, and from what I read I am nearly the only one with this big issue.

it is simple, when i turn on bluetooth, it is looking for devices around. It nearly never find any device. Once it found one, but it disappeared quickly.
So I can't pair with any device 😟
why !?

moreover, my iphone can be seen from other devices, such as phones, but when the other phone ask to pair with mine, it receives an error such as 'impossible to pair' :/

Has anyone the same problem ?
do you think it is hardware or software ?

how can I contact Apple for their answer

many thanks
Rémy

The iphone does not pair to other phones.

It will pair to telephone headsets/handsfree devices, stereo headsets/speaker, a computer ( only for tethering purposes) and bluetooth can be used for some peer-to-peer apps form the app store.

i've found the answer to my own question http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647 advises you can only search and use bluetooth basically for apple devices and not phones to exchange tunes , photos etc how pathetic are they so insecure i would neva have bought this if i'd known that how sneaky to advertise bluetooth!!!! People would still download tunes and stuff big mistake!!!! Is this just on the 4s or is this on all apple phones does anyone know???

My new iphone 4s would not discover bluetooth. I called apple, and the guy was great!!! He told me to hold the top button and the home button together and do not let go until the apple logo came up, this would do a hard reset. Then when it reboots, you turn on your bluetooth in paring mode, and then turn on the bluetooth on your iphone 4s and it will find your bluetooth device. Simple, yet it works!!! Hope this helps those of you having the same problem I was having trying to connect your bluetooth.

I know this issue may not fix everyone's problem, but it worked for me. My bluetooth headset will not pair WHEN IT IS CHARGING or otherwise connected via the USB. I got the same issue where it was constantly searching. However, simply unplugging the device from the charger fixed all my problems. The headset paired and I was on my happy way. And to think, I almost paid $29 for support to resolve the issue. :-)

I've had issues with this as well, we bought a beats box by Dr. Dre and my iPhone 4 connected just fine, with no issues, my husband's 3Gs same thing no issues, then all of a sudden mine will search and search but never connect. Apple pls correct this, I think it has to do with one of the updates, possibly the 5.1.1 since it started after I updated. I have since updated to iOS 6, but the problem still occurs yet my husbands connects just fine.
