iphone 4 won't find any device

hi,

I dicsovered a bug, and from what I read I am nearly the only one with this big issue.

it is simple, when i turn on bluetooth, it is looking for devices around. It nearly never find any device. Once it found one, but it disappeared quickly.
So I can't pair with any device 😟
why !?

moreover, my iphone can be seen from other devices, such as phones, but when the other phone ask to pair with mine, it receives an error such as 'impossible to pair' :/

Has anyone the same problem ?
do you think it is hardware or software ?

how can I contact Apple for their answer

The iphone does not pair to other phones.

It will pair to telephone headsets/handsfree devices, stereo headsets/speaker, a computer ( only for tethering purposes) and bluetooth can be used for some peer-to-peer apps form the app store.

oh thanks, it is good to know.

But my issue remains : I can't find any device with my bluetooth, thus can't connect to my headset.

Check the manufacturer's directions on how to put your headset into discovery mode.

my headset works very well with all the other phones of the house (Sony Ericsson, Samsung....)

so the headset itself isn't a problem

I'm also experiencing this problem: my iPhone scans for bluetooth devices but doesn't find my headset. Hoping for a fix from Apple or a solution from anybody.

Is there a solution to this bug yet?

I cannot see any Bluetooth devices when scanning (even other iPhones). I am running an iPhone 4 running ios 4.02

I've had my phone a couple of weeks and still haven't got it paired with a headset.

I have the same problem. Called Apple helpline they made me restore my device to factory condition. Even after, the problem still there, they told me to bring down to their service centre and exchange for a new set. I am going to do that.

hi, I have the same problem. I want to pair my iphone with the Volkswagen Golf RCD510 Radio. I've seen in youtube that it's possible to do, but my iphone can't detect bluetooth devices. Only works "well" with my macbook.

any answers?

Same problem here. But what surprises me is I can't even pair my iPhone 4 with my MacBook. The iPhone 4 keeps on "Searching" endlessly (it's been around 30 minutes now as I'm writing this). On the other hand, the iPhone is detected on my MacBook, but the pairing attempt is always unsuccessful.

Any similar experience? Any solution?

OK I just learned that the only way to pair the iPhone with the MB is through tethering only. Fine, not a deal breaker for me. I will test the iP 4 pairing with a headset later, hope it will work fine.

I´m also having trouble with the bluetooth. My iphone4 wont find any other devices. My MacBook Pro will find my Iphone4, but when I try to pair them i get an error saying the iphone is not within the range distance.
