iPhone4: Facebook Push Notification Not Working

_facebook should push to iphone a message when a notification is generated on your profile.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4S not receiving the pushed badge alerts for FB only -- all others work. It works fine on my iPod...so what is the deal? I've removed and reinstalled and still no luck...any suggestions?

I'm having the same issue. Facebook mobile app, doesn't show badges until I open the app, other apps update/show badges just fine.

I have iPhone 4, everything up to date.

Now here is the difference for me that no one has mentioned: I've used the fb app for about a year. It's just been the last week or so that I've noticed it's not showing update badges on the face of the app.

Anyone having the same issue these days, or have a solution?

I'm having the same issue with iOS 5.0.1 and and iPhone 4.

All other push messages work fine, just the facebook app does not send me notifications at all times. Strangely enough it did show me notifications for event invites which were the only unticked option in the apps settings. I've had the same issue under 4.3.

Is there anything all the people with the issue have in common? jailbreak maybe?

Jailbreak users have worse issues with push messages . I just got the iPhone4 about a week ago and I never get Facebook push messages. I get everything else in Facebook pushed. Also I tried everything and I can't get it to work, but I did something and was able to get it for 5 minutes but my phone died and then that was it. I am pretty sure it is a Facebook thing, but trial and error of many things will help, because obviously I got it to work momentarily. I spent 2 days on this an I have given up. Hope they come out with an update soon.

This might be total BS, but I think I might have a lead here:

From what I understand after some research is that it could have to do with the push certificate you get from apple when you first activate your device. This certificate seems to be stored somewhere in your backup as well. Somehow these can get corrupt and there seems to be no way to change this as there is no way to tell the Apple server to issue you a new certificate (wow that's thin ice here).

This would explain how you can basically do whatever with your device, full restore, wipe and restore, set up as new without it fixing the issue of broken push.

After speaking to the Apple service they send me a new device and when I set it up as fresh and activated it again, all notifications - but facebook messages - worked flawlessly. Once I restored back to my old backup push was broken again though.

So yeah, all this might not have anything to do with the facebook-messages-not-pushing-issue as that was still broken on the replacement iPhone, but hey - maybe it's a start ...

So yeh it just proves it now that it must be something with the Facebook app. Because I et everything else pushed minus the messages from Facebook . It is really ailing me lol

Both myself and my husband have iphone 4s, He get's text notifications and I don't. The phones were purchased at same time. We have notices that in my FaceBook account for mobile text notifications, the option to add specific individuals so you get all of their post (such as close family membrs) is completly missing in my facebook account. As is a comment option for friends. We have tried to see what is diff in facebook options and phone options, everything is same, but still doesn't work. I believe it is a facebook thing, because these options are missing from facebook even when connected to facebook by a PC. Problem is how to contact facebook to get it fixed?

I, from about two days I have not the sound notification for the push Facebook app. allert, no sound and no vibration, only the budge... since this period it work soo god.

I have a iPhone 4s iOs 5.1.1.. maybe I do all the thing is possible to resolve the problem but nothing, the ather apps notification work regulary..., I think that the problem is in the Facebook uo and I'm waithing for a new replay...
