iPhone (4) Voice Memos not Syncing to New iTunes 10.0

I'm currently on an iPhone 4 (4.0.1 firmware) and I've been experiencing issues getting my voice memos to sync to my iTunes library.

The last time this worked was August 27, 2010 which added 3 voice memos to my iTunes library successfully. Since then, I have not yet updated my firmware but have installed the new iTunes 10.0. I have 8 new voice memo recordings on my phone since the last successful sync, and I've tried syncing my phone four times today, Sept. 4, (restarting iTunes and my iPhone) with no luck. I tried recording a new voice memo to see if iTunes 10 would recognize any memos recorded after the installation but that failed as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I found this on a CNET forum and it worked for me (but maybe I was having a different problem):

"My voice memos magically appeared after I did the following: in iTunes > Preferences > Devices > iPhone > check 'Prevent iPods, IiPhones, iPads from synicing automatically'."

After I checked the box, I clicked the synch button in iTunes (Click the iPod/iPhone icon in your list on the left that shows all the device info.) When it was through synching, I got the familiar message "Your iPod has new voice memos. Would you like to import them?" I clicked "yes."

I have a problem: I always sync y voice memos, and also I take them from the ITUNES MEDIA folder and backup them in another folder.
This time, I have only 1 new voice memo to sync, but it says it was over 200mb and it was not possible to sync. So I erase some of the voice memos in itunes so it wouldn't be trying to sync EVERYTIME with EVERY voice memo that I have. (since I have back up of each of them, it wasn't any problem to do this)

But the 1 new voice memo that I need to sync is not transfering to the computer. And I have to send this by mail.

Does anyone has any solution to this?

thanks! regards,

Dani

This helped, but what would help further if Apple pop up warnings clearly communicated options to customers. Hesitant to click ok sync when box warns voice memos will be erased from iPhone when syncing to library when I am trying to backup files of housemate threatening my life at same time clear out memory space on my phone for collecting future a/v evidence of almost daily harassment and threats to assist police/landlord with their investigation. That means I don't want to sync, per se. I want to add files on iPhone to files on desktop, but not duplicate both places as the phone does not have enough space to hold that many files.

Backup iPhone option also needs to better communicate where those backup files disappear to-?

Ideally, both of these options would communicate what will happen after you click ok, before you click ok, got it? I am so happy the mobile and desktop machines are communicating with each other - but could Apple's engineers please also remember for these machines to communicate what they are doing to your customers? Big hugs for your hard work.
