Epson RX620 will not print with my MacBook Pro. Error:/ System/Library/ Pri

I can't get my Epson RX620 to print using my MacBook Pro. It prints fine using my G5 and all info was migrated from the G5 to the MacBook Pro. But I get this error message, Error:/ System/Library/ Pri... can anyone help?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.

What's the rest of that error message? Posting what you did is similar to posting as an error message the text "I'm having trouble with ..." with nothing following.

I'd try several things until things work:

1) Open the Print & Fax panel of System Preferences. Right-click on a printer entry and choose "Reset printing system".

2) Delete the entry for your printer, then add it back.

3) Check the Epson Web site for a recent driver for your printer. Download it, then first run it in "uninstall" move, then in "install" mode.

I'll be personally interested in what you learn. I have a relative who has an RX620 and 10.6.4, but I'm not sure he's tried to print anything yet.

Or you can delete the <hard drive>/Library/Printers/EPSON folder and your printer, to get rid of the 10.5 Epson files, then reinstall the software using Software Update.

Also, make sure when adding the printer that you use the Epson driver and not the Gutenprint driver.

thank's for the info, but still wasn't able to get it to work. I decided to upgrade to a wireless printer. Is there one you would recommend that supports snow leopard and doesn't guzzle ink?

I don't have any specific recommendation, especially about the ink guzzling part. Perhaps someone else here has a recommendation?

If you've been otherwise happy with Epson printers, you might consider the Artisan 810 or 835. Note that they no longer have a rear paper feed, so if you use odd thicknesses of paper you may find paper feeding a little finicky.
