Mac Pro, Nvidia GT120 and 2 monitors?

I have a late model Mac Pro with the Nvidia Geforce GT120 video adapter. I have been using it with a single monitor and decided to add a second monitor via the mini-display port on GT 120. I purchased the Mini display port to VGA adapter. Unfortunately, the second monitor never activates. If I change cables, the monitors swap roles, so I know both monitors are good.

Before I trek to my Apple Store, can anyone clarify if this configuration should actually work (one Monitor on DVI port and one monitor on mini display port to VGA adapter) both monitors are 1680 x 1050 60Hz from Viewsonic?

Thanks

Apparently, the Mini-display port connection if VERY finicky. I unplugged both monitors again, removed the MDP adapter, pushed the MDP adapter into the slot with a bit of extra force and both monitors lit up.

The answer is that you must make sure that the MDP adapter is VERY firmly inserted or the monitor won't be recognized.

As design input - something that small should not require that much effort to attach. I use the same adapter with both of my Mac Book Pro's and neither requires the amount of force I just used with the GT 120 connection on my Mac Pro.
