Battery Life Magic Mouse?

Could someone point me to a piece of literature from Apple which details what the expected battery life of the new magic mouse would be? I bought a new mac last week and already the battery is at 80% for the mouse while the keyboard remains at 100%.

Any suggestions?

Years ago when I bought my first Apple laptop, the instructions said to completely discharge the battery before recharging. I believe the instructions said that by doing this, it sets a standard for a full charge for future charging, and the battery lasts longer and takes a more complete charge.

Right now, when my magic mouse batteries are fully charged, they're only at about 76%. (I didn't listen to my own advice, darnit!)

My battery drain got ALOT better when I replaced my router with a 5ghz one.

I kinda throught this could have beren the source of the problem as often enough when I was downoading something at the foll 40 Mbps, my house would be all laggy.

I was a little disappointed to find out that the new iPhone 4s which came with my contract late 2012 didn't have 5ghz wireless on it, but hey that's life I guess. I suppose when the contract is renewed I can totally turn the 3.4 Ghz radio off 😀

I currently use Eneloop Pro (black/2550 Mah)) rechargeable batteries. With heavy daily use they are lasting about 7 weeks. I keep a spare pair charged at all times and use it in rotation with the other pair. While these batteries are a bit pricy, their significantly longer run times and their 500 recharge cycle life makes them worth using.

Worth noting: Batteries in a Apple wireless keyboard last much longer. I have the keyboard model that uses 3 AA batteries. I swap them out their Eneloop batteries every six months. Here I use the white or colored (2000 Mah) batteries. Some of these have been used in recharging rotation since 2006. Eneloop claims they can be recharged 2100 times. At six months per recharge X 2100 charges, they should last past the year 3050. I'll let you know if they do.
