Keyboard shortcut for Menu items with duplicate names?

Hi,

I see this has been asked in the past with no answer; I'll try again. I want to create a keyboard shortcut in Pages for the "Use Default" menu item, under the Baseline submenu. Problem is that the keyboard shortcut panel in System Preferences has you type the name of the menu item, and there is at least one other "Use Default" in Pages, in the Ligature submenu. What can I do? What I hoped I'd find was a syntax for specifying the full path, like "Format > Font > Baseline > Use Default".

thanks,
Rob

As I didn't want to bother what terminology to search for, I just tried a few different things and had it working again in Mountain Lion.

Intead of ">", I used "->".

Example (tried with success in Adium) : Display->Delete

Doesn't work for me in Mountain Lion... Using Screen Sharing App to switch Displays... I have to click the View menu THEN the shortcuts work, which defeats the option! So > nor -> work for me in Screen Sharing in ML. 😟

Intersting thing is its ignoring the View> or View-> because whether I enter this or not, the shortcut still works after I choose the View menu in the app itself.

Actually it does work but only after you use the menus to move a message once. Then the keyboard shortcut will work. Kinda annoying.

Mail wants to use shortcut command-ctrl-1 to move the mail into the folder into where I want to move my mail items. So I used Spark to do a keyboard mapping to ctrl-1 (since command-ctrl-1 is a little awkward for me).

A bit of a kludge but it works...
