iOS 4.1 Camera Roll thumbnails

After upgrading to iOS 4.1, all my camera roll thumbnails were replaced by a giant black box. Anyone else having this issue?

iPhone 4, iOS 4, iOS 4.1

Hey all,

im still havin a little trouble with the issue. i downloaded the iphone exploder, located the 3 files but i do not know how to save to my comp. can someone help me? will really appreciate it. 🙂

Charisma YOU ARE AWESOME !! I went to the at&t store they couldnt figure it out , i had APple call me from customer support and they couldnt help...honestly i was afraid to delete things from the phone but i said F it and followed your directions and BAM! camera roll was back ! Thanks !

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I just upgraded last night and noticed earlier that this had happened. I was so grateful that others had not only experienced this, but that someone had posted a solution!

I have to say that my update to iOS4 on my old 3G was a disaster and now this with iOS 4.1 on my iPhone 4 - unacceptable! Were they taken over by Microsoft?!?!?

YES, there is a known fix, and it is in the thread you posted to, submitted by CharismaG4toMBP. Sometimes it pays to read a thread before adding a message to it 😉

Probably because they didn't know about it until after the most recent release. They can fix it in the next release (hopefully), but considering the number of problems that pop up every time they issue an update I hope they would thoroughly test it, which can take months.

It also isn't a universal problem; a few iPhones have it, so figuring out why they have it can be quite a challenge.

I had same problem. Was able to fix it with fix here but..... I have another problem. I can click on the last photo no problem and it opens. But if i click an earlier image like the first one in album it won't show?

When you delete the files in the "PHOTODATA" folder, is it correct that the files still show under the IPhone Explorer application??

I know that there has been helpful suggestions offered here, but let me throw in what just worked for me.

I have an unlocked iPhone 3GS running 4.1 because a year ago it's all I could get working with my carrier T-Mobile.

I took some great footage of a concert and I didn't know how to get the 2.6 GB off my phone.

I looked for help.

The best help was in a Lifehacker article "The Best Desktop File Explorer For iPhone" in which they suggested we use the iFunBox program to upload and download freely from our iDevices.
