Facetime activation

I have wifi, it works. I have downloaded apps and streamed a great quality flick on netflix. But everytime I try to activate my facetime on the newest itouch. It says "check your network connection and try again". Please help.

Here's how I fixed it:

I went to http://appleid.apple.com/ to try to change my username from <user> to <user>@<isp.com>.

It wouldn't allow me, because that username was already used(!!).

So I used the recover my account to recover the account with the username <user>@<isp.com>. I then changed it to <user>+bogus@<isp.com> along with it's email address.

I went back to my primary account and fixed everything there.

Now it works.

So, to summarize, it seems that FaceTime requires:
* A username of the form: <user>@<isp.com>
* A verified email address that is the same as your username.

What a pain in the butt.

Ciao!

You guys need to do a COMPLETE restore, delete the back up.

As soon as the device is finished restoring, and shows up in itunes and the "restore from back up, or set up as new iPod) unplug the device.

Next go to settings then app store, make sure your correct Apple ID is showing as your log in, then go to settings,facetime and log into your Id/email you want to use for facetime.
