How to delete Game Center

I just upgraded my iPhone to 4.1 and got this lame Game Center app. I want it gone from my iPhone. IMO should have been an option. Apple: if you are listening, fix it! Fix it, now. We are annoyed.

Sorry, but is this really that annoying? Really?? And it's such an annoyance to write into a forum over. I guess I just don't get it. If you don't like it, move it to a folder you don't use. You can store like what, over 2600 Apps on your iPhone and having one you don't need or want is worth this much angst? To quote a skit on Saturday Night Live......"Really?"

Having the app on the screen is not that bad. I have other apps on the screen that I never use. I just have an issue with the design.

Some people just like to complain a lot. You know them.... the ones that are never happy. Go get an android phone if you must have full control.

The issue is not angst, but rather why should we have to park something somewhere and "live with it." The oh-let's-put-it somewhere-out-of-the-way mentality is most curious to us. Personally, if we don't use it, we don't want to have it around. We can always get it if needed...

Apple's attitude of, "All the pukes like games, therefore let us cement this most wonderful app into the iPhone system, etc." is Big Brother knows what's best for you. We are not amused. We like choice, options. We insist...

I totally agree....We are not all Apple Droids 🙂...Give us the choice to keep or delete. And why oh why whenever somboby makes a comment abount 'choice' on these forums do you always get the same response....'Buy and Android phone'! We like Iphones which is why we have them but it doesn't mean we need to be spoon fed.

while it doesn't really bother me and now lives in a folder with other un-deletable/unused apps, i feel like it's something that should have been an option and downloadable from the app store for free.

as far as the ui, i'm sure it will improve over time.

There are several apps that are programmed to be default apps that aren't removable (ie the stocks app). Just because it's integrated with your phone doesn't mean you have to use it. Insist all you want. If you want to have full control over every aspect of your phone, maybe the iPhone isn't for you.

User to user forum or not. It is on APPLE's SITE. And this is the only place to vent/ask questions.

This is NOT a place to vent. This is a forum for getting help with issues or sharing information that may help someone else. Venting is only self serving and will drag a discussion thread off topic. Just look at the proximity sensor thread for an example of how a thread can be ruined by venting and bickering. If you have something to share that might help someone, great. If you can answer someone's question, great. If you want to vent, not great. Do it somewhere else, please. I hope this information has been helpful to you. That was my intent.

FWIW I put a plug in the Feedback site to have Game Center more optional/removable/something different.

Just move it to a back screen or put it in a folder? How could a single extra icon be any sort of a problem whatsoever? Makes no sense.
