Alright, going to stop watching this thread. ******** and moaning here is going to do no good. If you're upset by this, for whatever reason send feedback or return the phone.

"Actually it is very easy to understand. This is my phone,"
Nope.. It is locked by the telecom provider. The software belongs to Apple (this is the reason why they're pushing for telecom or apps or whatever consuption). The music can be used only under certain conditions. Unlike with a computer, you cannot control the content (this is the reason why you cannot leverage bluetooth connections..).
It is not a phone.. It's a moneymaker. And you're the cash cow

That is an outstanding response! Very true in most regards. I do own the hardware, but as with almost every OS out there I do not own the software. I've had no issues with playing music though. That may be due to my ripping almost everything myself or having only purchased DRM free MP3's.
Android really needs to catch up.

This is awful! I never had Game Center on my iphone before. I installed it last week and it is the worst thing ever! I ride commute to work by train (Marta) every day, and I like to play games on my iphone while I wait in the station or ride, etc. Everything worked perfectly before I installed Game Center. The problem is that Game Center connects to the Internet each time you open a game-- often times, I'm waiting in a Marta station underground (no signal) or the train is going through a tunnel so my iphone gets no reception. That means, my game stalls because Game Center cannot access the Internet.

Thanks, Game Center... Thank you for ruining the most convenient entertainment I could possible have on my daily commute. I can not find a way to remove it. Man, I wish I never installed that hot mess.

More appropriately, I should ask how to disable it even if I cannot remove it. I just don't want it to muddle with my game play.

The problem here isn't the icon. It's the fact that when I'm playing a supported game, such as Angry Birds, the Game Center keeps popping up with little "comments" about my accomplishments in the game. Annoying and distracting. Should be able to turn at least that part off, but I can't find a way to do it.

I'm on iOS4.2.1 and I have set Settings > General > Restrictions > Game Center Multiplayer Games & Adding Friends both to OFF. With Angry Birds I do not see any evidence of Game Center when I start the game or during the game. I used to have to hit "Cancel" at the start of the game before I upgraded to 4.2.1 but I can't remember whether I had the restrictions turned to OFF at that time.

I like to play a silly little game called "Scramble". But now, having Game Center on my iPhone, when I touch the Scramble app, I get a screen that allows me to "Sign In to Game Center, Create New Account, Use Existing Account, Cance". I hit cancel. Count to 5. Now a new screen appears - "Game Center Disabled" and some other verbage. Sigh. Hit OK. Count to 5. Now the app finally appears. That's why moving the Game Center app somewhere else won't help.

Are you on iOS 4.2.1 and have you set Settings > General > Restrictions > Game Center Multiplayer Games & Adding Friends both to OFF? That got rid of the Game Center sign in / Cancel screens for me.

Why when I purchase a new PC with Window's 7 do I get IE and other crap I don't use, it is part of life, and marketing for them, so just move it to a "unused" folder like many have and pretend it does not exist.

I could care less about the icon, I just don't want to be forced to opt out of gamecenter EVERY TIME I play a game. This really is a screwup on apple's part. There should be a way to disable gamecenter in preferences so the user is not then hit with two or three or more screens, all regarding ONE function, CANCELING gamecenter. This is fundamental, core of Apple design type stuff and Apple knows it. It sticks out like a sore thumb when compared to the rest of the user experience in iOS. Want to know why it's so bad? Steve Jobs doesn't play games. He hasn't seen what happens when a user opts out. There's no way he would tolerate this crap if he saw it.
