Mar 26, 2014 7:54 PM in response to rockmyplimsoulby pleasehelpme89,Anyone know how to remove music from an iPhone 4? Music is not listed on my phone in "Usage". It's in the first page of "Settings". It does not delete with swiping or anything else as far as I can tell.
Thanks!

Mar 26, 2014 9:55 PM in response to pleasehelpme89by rockmyplimsoul,Try going to Settings/ Music/ Show All Music/ OFF since what you see may just be songs in the cloud (past purchases) which are not installed on your iPhone.

Apr 6, 2014 1:53 PM in response to b1r1e1nby alainsane,After working on this for a couple hours--using every conceivable, reasonable combinations of optoins, and yet still having crap on my phone I don't want--I am inclined to agree with you.

Apr 6, 2014 1:55 PM in response to rockmyplimsoulby alainsane,No. This doesn't work. Even after turning off the "Show All Music" option, I still see songs on my phone I have already deleted from my local iTunes library.

Apr 6, 2014 2:32 PM in response to alainsaneby rockmyplimsoul,Try this:
Connect your iPhone to iTunes, then select the Music tab (where you set your music sync settings). Scroll down to the bottom of that tab -- do you have a "Manually added songs" category? This is where they can hide, so if you see them here then select and delete them.
If you do not see them in the "Manually Added" category (or don't see that category at all) then manually drag and drop just one song from your library onto your iPhone -- you can do this even if you auto-sync. Now check the "Manually Added" category again, you should see the song you just added, and you might see the other song(s) that you've been trying to delete.

Apr 6, 2014 3:09 PM in response to rockmyplimsoulby alainsane,I don't see any of what you've described...even after I've manually added a song to the iPhone.

Apr 6, 2014 3:45 PM in response to alainsaneby rockmyplimsoul,If you successfully added a song manually, you should see this at the bottom of the Music tab while connected to iTunes (below Genres and Albums that you can individually select for syncing):
I just did it for one song to demonstrate. This works on PC and Mac iTunes, and this is where manually added songs are found (if you auto-sync) and sometimes direct-to-iPhone purchases which you have not yet transferred to your library, and sometimes cloud-downloaded songs.

Jun 30, 2014 3:18 PM in response to pleasehelpme89by Oczahc,Here's the solution that worked for me. None of the suggestions of opening the song and swiping left or right to delete were an option. This is the article that actually worked: iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

Jan 19, 2015 3:53 AM in response to apgain1616by itunes reject,Does anyone have an updated option to this post? The swipe to delete option is not at the designated location, nor is it an option under Music.
I'm so frustrated with not being able to delete songs off my phone i could puke. I have several songs on my phone that play that I deleted from my itunes library...I don't have the song on any other device, and the songs are not in my itunes library, but since I can't delete them from my iphone, they are still there...even after following many suggestions, synching and resynching, etc. Grrr. If I could manage my iphone without itunes, i would do it in a heartbeat.
