Three (3) in UK - No Visual Voicemail

I just thought folk might like to know that Three (or "3") in the UK does not support visual voicemail. I've just been googling and this fact seems to be well covered up!

Indeed it seems there is only one mobile network provider in the UK that provides visual voicemail in the UK, and thats O2.

Funny init? No matter how much you think you have researched contracts, deals, services etc, there is always something that catches you out and bites you. Can you imagine a mobile provider actually bringing a smile to your face? Yeah I know, its just a dream.

anyway, I'm just trying to spread the knowledge.

I have same problem with Tesco. I am so annoyed not to have visual voicemail! When I changed from O2 this was only because on the day I decided to upgrade to I phone 4s everywhere was out of stock. Tesco had some in stock and told me exactly the same as O2 etc. Offering good deal with the mins. I hate not being able to see who has left message as important to screen importance of call. Annoyed that Tesco did not point this out at the time!! I would have stuck with O2 had I known. Anyone know if tesco plan to introduce visual voicemail?

What retailer of any type of product or service tells you all the things they don't or can't do when they sell you a product?

There are at least two visual voicemail apps out there that fill the void - personally I use OnVoicefeed as it gives me the ability to customise greetings for different groups of contacts (that for the main have only one member in the group).

However I don't believe Tesco is supported yet.

Nothing replaces doing a bit of research before you buy.

iPhone's have been going since 2007. iPhone's stopped being exclusive to O2 in 2009 (THREE years ago!!!). ALL operators have had more than enough time to bring in Visual Voicemail. Personally I think it's disgusting that we've gone this long without a main feature of our handsets! I had to download and pay for HulloMail because quite frankly, Three's voicemail service is shocking! The only reason I am with them is because of the unlimited data. They aren't very good really. I do think that Apple should be pushing network operators to introduce visual voicemail. Britain is always so behind when it comes to technology!

I don't agree at all that Britain is behind when it comes to technology. We were all using digital handsets and networks in the 1990s when the US was still all analogue. All the networks in this country offer the Iphone giving us all a lot of choice. Is that true in the US? All the networks are offering unlocking at any time? Is that true in the US? We don't pay to receive calls. Is that true in the US? We all focus on the Iphone here but Nokia, a European company, still sells more phones in a year than any other company

Visual Voicemail is an emotive topic and there is a lot of talk on the Vodafone forum about this and I always say the same thing. I would much rather the networks invested in extending their 3G service than implementing a feature which is available either as a free app or at a minimal cost - personally I use On Voicefeed and it does an excellent job.
