Importing & Exporting Wav File at 24 bit

Hi,

This has probably been covered before. I would like to know if it is possible to import and export a stereo wave file in GarageBand 9 at 24 bit. I record on a hard disc recorder and would like to use the mastering tools on GarageBand and then re-import into the hard disc recorder as a stereo 24 bit wav file.

Can it be done? Does GarageBand support this? If so, how do I do it?

Any help appreciated.

K.

Thank you.

But my understanding is that AIFF files are 16 bit only files. If this is correct, there would be nothing to be gained by re-converting the AIFF file to 24 bit WAV on I Tunes since 8 bits would have been lost in the initial conversion in GarageBand.

I may be wrong. Can AIFF files in fact have 24 bit resolution?
