windows print server not showing up
Hi all,
We have a Windows 2008 print server and a very segmented network. We are trying to set up an OSX 10.5.8 client to find the Windows print server (under "System Preferences" -> "Print & Fax" -> "+" -> "Windows" but the domains/workgroups are not showing up because the print server is on a different subnet and broadcast traffic is being blocked across the router. I tried adding a WINS server and having the Mac client and the print server register with it but that still didn't populate the domains/workgroups. Is there any way I can rig samba on the Mac to know about this print server (lmhosts file)? I can't use the LPR protocol because the application I am using requires Windows client printing.
Thanks
