"KSURL (nobody)" Help!!!

I have tried every Terminal Command I can Find to remove ALL Google software from my Mac and it is not working. I am still getting the message "KSURL (nobody) wants to connect to google..." etc.

Has anyone figured out how to remove or disable Google Updater???

Thanks

thanks. i've used Property List Editor (the default associated editor) for editing that com.google.Keystone.Agent.plist file and changed checkInterrval to 0. i can't remember but i think the setting was 18000 before i changed it to 0. and i guess that means it checked every 5 hours? i know it was several hours between when Little Snitch told me that ksurl wanted to call out to google to check for an update or whatever it was checking for on google. i didn't want to use Textedit to edit the file because i didn't want to take the chance of messing up the file.

i'm guessing that this ksurl nonsense is happening because of when i've updated Google Chrome or Google Earth on my macbook. i like both Google Chrome and Google Earth.

what's annoying about this ksurl is that it was being created new everytime in a tmp directory. so that means Little Snitch will be catching a new ksurl file everytime. if you apply a Little Snitch rule to ksurl to allow or deny all the time, that only applies to one temporary ksurl and not to the next ksurl that pops up. very annoying. hey google this is annoying! oh well. i think it's stopped now with changing the checkInterval to 0.

thank you all for the tip.

I found only 1 copy of the "com.google.Keystone.Agent.plist" file in my home/user directory. TextEdit opens the file but most looks like gibberish, and the word "checkinterval" is not found using the FIND function. Opening the file with Quick Look shows me the whole file, but again I can't find the "checkinterval".

I deleted the file, emptied the trash, rebooted my MBP, and as soon as it finished booting, there was the ksurl trying to access "dl.l.google.com" again!!

Other ideas??

i guess you didn't see my message right before your message (you may have to go to the second page of this discussion thread to see all the messages). i've used Property List Editor to edit the file. i didn't use textedit because of how it all shows gibberish. Property List Editor should be the default editor that opens up when you click that .plist file. if not, you'll have to search for "Property List Editor" using the spotlight search up on the corner on your mac and then open the file when you are in Property List Editor. i'm no longer getting that ksurl thing popping up.

I am running 10.6.4 not sure if this has anything to do with it.
Here is what my file looks like in total.
You can see the "checkInterval 0" deal on the 2nd line ( I added the space and the "0")

Not sure what else could be going on here... Good luck
