Printing to a Panasonic DP C405 printer on a LAN needing a password

I have moved to the Kingdom of Swaziland from South Africa with my new Macbook and struggling to connect to the printer on the LAN (among other things!) Please can someone help.

I have the correct IP address for the printer, but I need to know where I input the password for the LAN / printer.

Should I be using "Generic PostScript printer", "Generic PLC Laser Printer" or selecting another printer software for this?

Do I need to tick the option "Duplex printing unit"?

Is there anything else I need to know?

Help would be MUCH appreciated.

If I get the default to my Dept Code - will this mean that I do not need to enter my code each time I print or does this need to be done some other way?

Glad to hear that you are now able to print.

You can set the Default Dept Code to your password if you want. That will eliminate the need to set it each time you print. In my opinion, however, this is a bit of a security issue. If you set the default to use your code, anyone with access to your computer can just print anything and have it charged back to you. If you keep the default dept code to "None", then anyone who has access to your computer would have to know that they have to set the Dept Code. Granted, it is not that much of a security issue as it is very easily overcome. I will let you decide whether or not to set the default to your code. If you do change the default, make sure that your code is enclosed in quotation marks.
