Bouncing 48k audio to 44.1k?

I've already made the decision to record in 24 bit ALWAYS, just because the advantages are phenomenal and dithering down to 16 bit for CD isn't a big deal.

I'm considering jumping to 48k for all my projects (because I do video stuff too).

My question is: When I master a project and convert down to 44.k/16 bit for CD is it a problem converting the sample rate down or is it no big deal?

No big deal. But don't "convert" the whole project, just do a bounce at 16/44.1.

Ya, I've converted the sample rate of a project up before. It gave a nice chip munk quality to the vocals!

Just be aware that if you are converting sample rate on your bounce, the sample rate conversion happens post bounce. If you are using a peak limiter with a specific ceiling, it will display some overs. ie It won't be as accurate as when not changing rate.
This will be of particular importance if you are doing any broadcast work, which would be at 48k most likely anyway.
