Bad Signal after 4.1 update (no it'snt an hardware issue)

Hi,
I upgraded my iPhone 3GS from 4.0 to 4.1 yesterday. After the upgrade the signal is very poor.
Entering in field test i get:
-92 db if the phone is on the table
-110 db if i take it in hand.
Moreover now the phone loss signal in place where before i can make call:
1) With 4.0 i can make call from elevator, now with 4.1 i get: searching, and then no signal.
2) Same thing in the stairs
3) at home where with 4.0 i had full signal now only -89 db.

Don't say is a hardware problem, because the phone was perfect before update to 4.1. There is no problem with tower cell.
The problem is the update to 4.1 and the related update of the baseband.
Please do somenthing and quickly because now in these condition my iPhone 3GS can't be used like phone, but only like mp3 player.
My operator is "Tre Italia"
Thanks

I dont think Apple understands how serious this issue is. We shouldn't be looking for information on how Apple will solve this. They should fix the issue for us. I have had the same problem as the rest in this thread for a week, and I am leaving iPhone all together. It is simply put horrible and completly unacceptable for a _mobile phone_ to have issues like that. You should never be expected to hacks, workarounds or upgrades for the basic phone features to work. Never. That just have to work, and it doesn't on my iPhone.

I have an iPhone through work, so I haven't paid for it my self, thank god, but I am handing it in and demanding a droid... There's no alternative, really

It is so silly how apple screws up a stable phone platform like the 3GS by releasing a firmware upgrade meant to fix reception problems!!!!

I suddenly had same issue with mine (officially unlocked & never jail-broken) & eventually realized that enabling 3G radio will put it into searching mode until "no signal" is all what I get. If I disable 3G, it works perfectly but what's the point then!
I thought it might have started cause something inside it broke cause I dropped it multiple times, which made frustrated... But here I find plenty of people facing the exact same problem due to the 4.1 update

Do I hear apple saying to google & others, pls come & take my market share?

They should quickly fix firmware problems, confess about it, or allow downgrade until they fix it if its going to take them ages... Unless they want to keep is waiting for next phase of refresh when iPhone5 is available

Issue still exists after my update!!! 😟 spoke to Apple again and they suggested that some piece of sOftware has disrupted the antenna (???!?!?!) and to try a complete reformat and start from scratch thus losing all of my settings/files/saves/call history/messages e.t.c. I cant see that that is a suitable resolution considering the amount of info stored on my phone!
