How do you include an extension with a telephone number in the contacts app

I had this same question... today, June 2, 2014.

@ tonefox - IMHO, it's never too late for correct information to be added to an old thread when it comes to help forums and the like. Someone may still need it someday and appreciate the addition.

It's more than a year later and your post helped me, the others have never worked.
