HDMI Handshake problems every 20 - 30 minutes - Color Inversion Issue

Dear all,

I used the old ATV for a long time and never had problems with it. Yesterday my new ATV 2 arrived. The setup was very easy but after a few minutes a problem with HDMI Handshake occurred and repeats at least every 20-30 minutes:

I get a green screen for one or two seconds and then the picture appears again with some kind of inverted colors.

I use a Philips 40 inch 7664 LED LCD with the newest firmware installed.

Any idea what I could to to fix this issue?

That's exactly what's been on my mind, too (the "German-only" problem). Already thought about switching to English language for a trial whether or not this bug is a malfunction within the German language option of the firmware (even though it sounds a little weird). Gonna try that later this evening. Will post my results later.

It would Be too easy if is was in Connection with a German Version. there isn't a Special German Version but only a different power plug and icant't Imagine that is has anything to do with the Language Setting.

I think this Kombination of ATV and Philips TV is Quitte populär in Germany. Does anybody Know how populär Philips TVs are in the US? i never had a Philips TV in any of my Hotel Roms in the US. A d there are at least a few from Outsider Germany in this thread with this Problem.

Same Problem here. Greenish, magentaish picture. Putting ATV to sleep and waking it up solves the problem. I have a 42" philips LCD connected via hdmi only. Hoping for an ATV software update soon or I'll have to return the unit.

Same Problems with some kind of magenta colored picture after a green screen.
I use a Phillips 42PFL8404H + ATV2 😟
Tried some different hdmi cables and tv settings without succsess. Every time the same issue.
Any new ideas?

I have the same problem. Philips 32 PFL9604.The screen goes green and then a pink negative style picture. Would love to know how to solve this.

got my apple tv 2 yesterday.
it runs fine with a philips LCD essence PES0001 (firmware version 101).
connected via hdmi - hdmi and an optical digital cable.
my tv is based on the philips models 7403 / 9603 / 9703 / 9803 / 9903.
so they all should run fine.
the last posts in this thread suggest, that there might be problem with the newer philips models with 4 at the end of the model number (e. g. 42PFL8694).

Turned off the screen saver and the auto sleep function of my ATV. Working fine now for over 2 hours. Can't tell though whether it's just a single lucky trial or whether that solved the issue. We'll see. Maybe others can give that a try, too, and tell if it worked.

Maybe one should send a note to Macnews or Maclife regarding this issue to make it more public.

probably not an apple problem.
as more and more posts are coming in (e.g. on the german site: http://www.fscklog.com/2010/10/problemberichte-zu-neuem-apple-tv-an-philips-fern sehern.html#comments) it looks like this problem is a philips problem with all of their newer "4"-models (e.g. 7664 or 9604).

maybe *not only* an apple problem but definitely an apple problem because only AppleTV initiates the problem
