HDMI Handshake problems every 20 - 30 minutes - Color Inversion Issue

Dear all,

I used the old ATV for a long time and never had problems with it. Yesterday my new ATV 2 arrived. The setup was very easy but after a few minutes a problem with HDMI Handshake occurred and repeats at least every 20-30 minutes:

I get a green screen for one or two seconds and then the picture appears again with some kind of inverted colors.

I use a Philips 40 inch 7664 LED LCD with the newest firmware installed.

Any idea what I could to to fix this issue?

Thanks

I think I solved my problem. Different HDMI Cable.

I have a 40" Sony XBR HDTV that is 2 years old. Had been using a Belkin HDMI with my ATV1 for 2 years with no problem.

I unplugged the ATV1 and plugged in the ATV2 using the same cable. Immediately started getting 1-2 second black screens every minute or two on the Sony. Occasionally, it would go black and stay. The audio continued.

Didn't suspect the cable since it had worked fine with ATV1 for 2 years.

Just tried a different cable, and the ATV2 worked fine for 2 or 3 hours with no hiccups. Went back to the Belkin cable, and immediately saw the black screen glitches.

So I think I've solved my problem.

I'm having the same problem. Received my Apple TV today and tried on serval different SONY tv's (1 LED and 2 LCD tv's), different HDMI cables, different power suplies.. But always the same problem. Screen becomes pink or other weird blue color or screen goes black (losing hdmi connection) for some minutes. This is very frustrating for the first time use. I hope you, Apple, wil fix this soon with an update..

I contacted the support as well, forwarded the thread at fscklog.com and got the answer that they'll contact me if they get news.
By the way, a suggestion of the Apple Support was to reset the box. I did and yesterday I didn't have this problem for approx. 20 min. No chance to test longer, but perhaps this could be an option for all of us.

That's what they told me to do as well (on Saturday). Actually, they didn't just want me to reset the ATV but also to restore it. Did so. The only thing restoring the device (means the ATV loading the firmware from the web and then installing it) lead to was that the "TV shows" column was/is gone. I know it doesn't work yet here in Germany, but that does not mean that I don't want that feature to be shown. So, my ATV since then just says Movies - Internet - Computer - Settings. And, of course, that did not fix the issue with the cyan/pink screen. So: Big hooray to the support! :-/
