Copying a wedding DVD

A friend asked me to make three copies of their daughter's wedding video. I had not tried this before but sounded do-able. Well when I put the original DVD in my DVD player opens and plays the DVD without a problem, but I can't figure out how to make copies. I tried importing to I movie and I DVD, but they do not recognize it.

Anyone tell me where to start ?

Thanks

Mark,

Sue answered the wrong question.....

how does one go about copy-protecting DVD's? Is this something I would be able to do with iDVD or would I need DVD SP for that?

The writable media we use can't be copy-protected.

DVD SP lets you write the necessary keys to a tape format output that will enable commercial, 'pressed-disk' manufacturers to create copy protected stamped disks.

Historical note: Several years ago some writable media manufacturers (including Pioneer) tried to introduce something called 'CPRM' (Content Protection for Recordable Media'. The effort didn't 'fly'.
