Apple TV not playing Netflix TV Shows

Resetting fixed my problem. I forgot the above message that said to do this. So I used play and menu at the same time. It worked after restarting.

A simple reset probably would have done the same thing so you might want to try that next time (hopefully, there won't be a next time). As for the sound being out of sync, stopping and rewinding a few seconds (sometimes more, sometimes less) usually fixes it for me.

I have the same problem. I've had my Apple TV for about a week and it worked great viewing TV shows on Netflix. Then, yesterday it stopped streaming Netfix. When I click any TV show to play it, I either get the 'can't connect to server' notice or it goes back to the same screen. I know the Netflix server is not busy because I can access the same show on my MacBook.

I had the same problem with Netflix not streaming on Apple TV, but would play on my other devices. I saw an earlier post where it stated holding down the menu button and the down arrow. I reset the device and now it is streaming perfectly. Love my Apple TV, except for any technical difficulty with ANY computer device

I suggest that unplug or reset apple tv before try anything else. It is work for me.

DISAPPOINTING! Apple, you're supposed to have the best of the best products out there and you can't get Netflix to work? Yikes...

I'm a long-standing Apple customer, I was happy to get Apple TV to finally watch Netflix on my TV, only to realize today how disappointed I really was.

FIX IT!

This is not normal. It works fine for most poeple, myself included. You have an issue and should call support. A few things I do when it doesn't seem tow ork right.

1. Reboot the device.

2. Reboot the router it's connected to.

3. Reboot your internet provider's modem.

If it's not working at this point, it's something unusual. You can either take it to Apple store or call. If you don't want to do those, then try restoring it to factor default settings.

I have had the same issue with Netflix from the beginning. Here is a theory that may answer some of the questions on this discussion. I have never had an issue with locally streamed content from within my LAN. I have also never had an issues with content purchased directly through Apple. I have had this issue consistently with Netflix streamed content. What I have noticed is that if I purchase an Apple movie, I can pause it, walk away for a while (15 minutes or so). When I return, I will see the movie has downloaded all or most of the movie.

When I start a Netflix movie, however, no matter how long I pause, the movie doesn't buffer. I think this is a limitation that Apple has built into the device. If Apple allowed full buffering for all content, this wouldn't be an issue.

Anyways, this is my two cents worth.

TTried switching y modem channel as well and had no luck.
