I found a bug fix: Select the clip in the Photos app and trim off frame or two then "Save As New Clip."
Hmm, I'm having the same problem. The video section in iMovie is only showing some of the clips I can see and play in the photos app. Likewise photos are not showing in the photo section although they are already in one of my projects and are still viewable in the photos app. Interestingly, everything that is in an album of the photo app is viewable in iMovie, as far as I can tell. But I have a lot of content which shows under the 'photos' tab of the photos app which does not show in any of the albums.
Problem first noticed after I imported content using the camera connection kit. This seems to have made some 'imported' albums, i.e. 'last import' and 'all imported' (which only includes the last 2 imports, not all...) and essentially stuffed everything up.
As per a previous post, I submitted the feedback to Apple but the output of that feedback forms says: "We cannot respond to you personally, but please know that your message has been received and will be reviewed by the iMovie Team. If we need to follow up with you on your ideas for improving iMovie, wewill contact you directly." so I’m not expecting a fix any time soon...
My solution was to turn on location services, eventhough my clip was local - then they showed up
Thank you jnk96 🙂 this is the CORRECT SOLUTION to the issue related to camera roll video clips not appearing for an extended period of time after touching add clip in iMovie. (This should also address issues with missing clips in iMovie as well.)
ℹ I've broken it down step by step below ℹ
Now when you then go into add an existing video clip they will all appear nearly immediately.
